Contraindications

Not for damp-heat in the lower burner — burning, urgency, dark scanty urine or a yellow greasy tongue coating mean something must be cleared before anything is bound. Cloudy urine or urinary frequency of recent onset should be investigated medically rather than simply astringed.

For licensed practitioners’ reference only — not a self-treatment guide.

Pregnancy

Generally compatible — neither ingredient is a pregnancy-restricted herb, and Qian Shi is eaten as a food; still to be used on practitioner advice during pregnancy.
