Contraindications

For cold-damp patterns only. Not for damp-heat, for yin-deficient heat, or for anyone with a dry mouth, red tongue and thirst — the acrid, warm and drying body of the formula will make those worse. It contains both Ma Huang and processed Ban Xia, so it is not a self-prescribed remedy.

For licensed practitioners’ reference only — not a self-treatment guide.

Pregnancy

Contraindicated in pregnancy — it contains Ma Huang, Rou Gui, processed Ban Xia and blood-moving herbs, a combination that is not used while pregnant.
